Dental Sealants

The chewing surfaces of molars have deep pits and grooves that collect food particles, making them a common place to find cavities. In order to create a smooth surface, we recommend sealing the grooves of permanent molars. A dental sealant is a simple procedure in which a tooth-colored acrylic “coating” is applied to the chewing surface.

Dental sealants protect the pits and grooves of your teeth from food particles and plaque that brushing and flossing can’t reach.

Easy to apply, dental sealants take only a few minutes to complete. Sealants hold up well under normal chewing forces and can last several years before a reapplication is needed.

Children and adults can benefit from dental sealants in the fight against tooth decay.
